A stock count can be numerically correct while the business still promises inventory it cannot ship. Materials may be reserved for production, units may be waiting for inspection, and an ecommerce channel may have received an outdated availability figure. Inventory software should help the team understand these distinctions across purchasing, storage, production, and fulfillment.
Zoho Inventory, inFlow, Cin7 Core, Katana, and Unleashed address those workflows with different levels of operational depth and commercial packaging. This comparison uses official sources checked on October 19, 2026. It focuses on product-based businesses and does not claim a warehouse implementation, accuracy benchmark, or measured financial return.
Map the stock movement before choosing software
Write down how a real item moves from purchase order to receipt, storage, allocation, shipment, and possible return. Manufacturers also need materials, bills of materials, production work, and finished goods. A simple bundle or assembly feature should not automatically be treated as a complete production planning system.
Inventory and accounting also have different jobs. Our accounting software comparison covers financial records. An integration must reconcile the operational movement with the ledger, including costs, returns, and adjustments, rather than merely displaying the same sales total in two dashboards.
The quick difference
| Product | Best fit | Main strength | Boundary to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Zoho Inventory | Smaller multichannel businesses and Zoho users | Purchasing, orders, tracking, and ecosystem connections | Monthly orders, users, locations, and edition-specific features |
| inFlow | Teams wanting inventory and order operations | Stock workflows with a distinct manufacturing product | Inventory, Manufacturing, and Stockroom are different offerings |
| Cin7 Core | Growing product businesses with integrated channels | Connected inventory with tiered planning and warehouse scope | Annual order allowances, included integrations, and add-ons |
| Katana | Businesses wanting inventory and production configured together | Materials, production, purchasing, and custom integrations | Advantage is a scoped annual contract; Free has a small SKU limit |
| Unleashed | Stock-focused firms needing traceability and costing | Inventory, purchasing, landed costs, and production options | Core versus Pro, order capacity, modules, and onboarding |
Zoho Inventory
Zoho Inventory combines purchase and sales order workflows with stock management, multichannel connections, and fulfillment features. Its product material covers serial and batch tracking, warehouse transfers, composite items, barcode workflows, and links with Zoho Books and other accounting systems. That makes it a useful candidate for a smaller business joining several operational steps.
The strength is a broad starting workflow within an established application ecosystem. The limitation is plan capacity and feature depth. Current Free packaging lists 50 orders per month, one user, and two locations; paid plans increase allowances. Confirm which edition includes the particular tracking, automation, or warehouse feature the business needs.
Regional editions and billing periods matter when comparing prices. Do not assume a displayed dollar amount applies to every country or that an annually billed monthly equivalent is a monthly contract. Evaluate a partial receipt, a warehouse transfer, and a return that must reach accounting. Choose Zoho Inventory when that practical workflow fits without requiring manufacturing or planning capabilities beyond the selected edition.
inFlow
inFlow now separates Inventory, Manufacturing, and Stockroom. Inventory covers stock and order management; Manufacturing adds assembly, bills of materials, and production-related capabilities. Stockroom targets scan-in and scan-out control of supplies, and should not be mistaken for the same purchasing and sales workflow at a lower price.
The distinction is useful because the operating need is explicit. Its limitation is that buyers must compare the correct product and its add-ons. Current annual-billing entry prices are USD 99 per month for Inventory and USD 169 per month for Manufacturing. These are starting subscriptions, not a promise that every location, user, integration requirement, or onboarding service is included.
Review lot and serial tracking, API access, B2B ordering, access rights, and extra locations against the actual plan. Hardware and implementation can also change the proposal. In a pilot, ask warehouse staff to receive and fulfill the same sample order from their intended devices. inFlow fits when its practical stock workflow matches the team and its product boundaries are understood before purchasing.
Cin7 Core
Cin7 Core brings inventory, orders, purchasing, and connected sales channels into one operating platform. It is relevant to growing manufacturers, distributors, and multichannel sellers that want coordination across their existing accounting and commerce systems. Its appeal is the joined workflow, rather than the mere number of integrations in a catalog.
Current pricing lists Standard at USD 349 per month for new customers, excluding taxes, with five users, two ecommerce/app integrations, and 6,000 sales orders per year. Pro and Advanced expand capacity and capability. Confirm the contract and billing terms directly; a displayed monthly unit alone does not establish cancellation rights or an annual commitment.
Planning and warehouse depth vary by tier, and capabilities such as forecasting or B2B access can require additional scope. Distinguish Cin7 Core from Cin7 Omni when reviewing proposals. Evaluate an order imported twice, a delayed stock synchronization, and a return across channels. Choose Core when integrated operations justify the implementation effort and the required integration allowances are included in the written offer.
Katana
Katana combines inventory visibility with materials, production, purchasing, and sales workflows. It is particularly relevant when a business needs to connect what it can manufacture with what it can promise to customers. Bills of materials and traceability deserve examination using the business’s real products rather than a simplified demonstration catalog.
The current packaging is important: Katana advertises Advantage as a custom annual contract scoped around integrations, automations, dashboards, and implementation. This is different from treating historical Standard or Professional prices as current offers. The written scope should identify what will be configured, maintained, and supported.
Free currently allows up to 30 SKUs after the initial unlimited-SKU period. Its FAQ also qualifies ecommerce integration on Free to Shopify. Do not read broad integration language as proof that every commerce connector is included there. Katana belongs on the shortlist when production and inventory should be designed together, with a clear agreement on the catalog, integrations, support, and annual commercial terms.
Unleashed
Unleashed focuses on stock, purchasing, sales, traceability, and costing. Its official material describes warehouse movements, serial and batch tracking, landed costs, bills of materials, and assemblies. It deserves consideration when product costs and component relationships need to remain visible through the operational workflow.
The strength is stock-centered depth. The limitation is packaging: Core and Pro have different included capabilities, with additional functionality and capacity available separately. Production, advanced inventory planning, warehouse management, B2B commerce, and support should be checked against the actual bundle rather than assumed included because they appear on the website.
The pricing page offers regional currencies and monthly or annual choices, with applicable taxes excluded. Confirm the selected currency, user licenses, order allowance, integrations, API calls, and onboarding before comparing totals. Use an evaluation to trace freight into item cost and inspect how a partial receipt or disassembly affects stock. Unleashed fits when those costing and traceability requirements are central and the complete proposal supports them.
Run a transaction-based evaluation
Give each vendor the same small scenario: buy components in two deliveries, pay freight, move stock between locations, assemble a finished item, reserve it, ship a partial order, and process a return. The goal is to discover where staff need an unsupported workaround. A feature checkbox cannot show whether the workflow produces an understandable audit trail.
Include warehouse users and accounting staff in the review. Decide who may adjust stock, change item costs, edit completed transactions, and resolve an integration failure. Check that units of measure, variants, batches, and serial numbers behave as required. Record opening quantities and valuation rules before an import; software cannot infer the meaning of inconsistent source records.
Price a realistic year with users, locations, order volume, peak-season capacity, connectors, API needs, scanners, implementation, and support. Ask whether canceled orders and imported transactions count toward limits. Compare annual commitments and monthly contracts on the same basis, and separate recurring subscriptions from one-time onboarding charges.
Finally, define reconciliation and continuity. Someone should own a failed synchronization, a physical count discrepancy, and the process for continuing work during an outage. Successful software selection produces a maintainable stock process, not only a more attractive dashboard.
Choose according to operational depth
Zoho Inventory fits accessible connected operations, inFlow offers clearly separated inventory and manufacturing paths, and Cin7 Core suits growing integrated product businesses. Katana merits attention for configured inventory-and-production workflows, while Unleashed emphasizes stock traceability and costing. Select the system that handles the actual transactions and commercial scope the business will operate.
